Oakland Cemetery Burials
This website represents the efforts of a project to document all of the estimated 70,000 people known to have been buried in Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. The first and primary effort is to photograph and catalog approximately 40,000 marked graves in the cemetery. At the same time, sexton's records will be transcribed and entered into the online database after editing and verification.Currently, this site includes a database of more than 2,000 marked burials in the Confederate section of the cemetery.
